  • 2 x Aluminum Posts: Both posts are freestanding and cemented into the ground.

Rebate Strip:
On double gates, we fit a rebate strip to one of the gates, as one gate typically serves as the entrance while the other opens when necessary. Please specify whether you'd like the rebate strip installed on the left or right gates (as viewed from the front). Note that the gate with the rebate strip will remain stationary unless you prefer the gates to open forward, which is less common.

Security Lock Options:

  1. High-Security Gate Lock: Features a key-operated barrel on one side and a slide lock button on the other for easy operation. The slide lock allows you to open the gate from the back garden, while a key is required from the front. The lock includes clear instructions and five keys.

  2. Coded Lock: Available in silver and black, with the black version crafted from marine-grade material. Both locks are designed for outdoor use, and the coded lock allows easy access from the back garden with a twist handle while requiring a code from the front side of the garden.

    How to Measure

    Measuring Your Gate Opening

To ensure an accurate fit, we need to know the
total gap, including the posts. Here’s how to measure:

Measure the Total Gap: Measure the distance from wall to wall, or from wall to fence. Be sure to measure at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening to account for any variations.

Provide the Smallest Measurement: After measuring, record the smallest measurement from top, middle, and bottom in the "Total Gap" box. This will ensure a precise fit for your gate.

Post Thickness and Clearance: Once we receive the smallest measurement, we will subtract the thickness of the posts and include the appropriate clearance for a proper fit.

If you're unsure about the measurements or need
assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we’ll guide you through the process.

Existing Posts: If you plan to keep your existing posts, or one of them, let us know. Our standard
gate package includes two posts, unless you specifically request otherwise.

    Care Guide

Spring Gate Maintenance Tips: To keep your gate looking fresh and working properly, we recommend
    following these simple steps.

Clean Your Gate: Begin by hosing down your gate to remove any dirt or grit that may have built up during the winter months or from heavy rain. Then, wash the gate using hot, soapy water and a sponge. This will help remove any stubborn residue.

Use a PVC Solvent Cleaner: After the gate has dried, apply a PVC solvent cleaner to maintain its appearance. Over the years, we’ve found that Everbuild PVC Solvent Cleaner works best. Simply spray it onto the gate and wipe it over with a clean cloth. This will not only help keep your gate looking great, but also help protect the color of the gate, especially if it's exposed to sunlight.

Protect Against the Sun: If your gate is in full sun year-round, we recommend going a step further by
applying a coat of clear Danish oil using a cloth. Many Danish oils designed for outdoor use contain UV additives, which will provide extra protection for your gate. Our gates are made from high-quality PVC, which already includes UV protection. While it takes many years for PVC to fade, following these extra steps will help preserve its appearance.

Maintain Gate Hardware: Don’t forget to maintain your gate’s hardware, including the hinges, ring
latch, and locks. Simply apply some oil to a cloth and wipe it over the hardware, paying extra attention to the hinge joints. This will help protect against the weather and ensure everything continues to
    work smoothly.

By following these easy steps, you’ll keep
your gate looking great and functioning properly for years to come.

    FAQs

    Are your gates fully assembled?

Our gates will come fully assembled. You will need a trusted gate fitter to install your gate for you along with your lock options.

    How strong are your gates?

Our gates are just as strong as wooden gates, without the worry of rotting and material degrading.

Does the total gap include the posts?

    Yes, it does.
The total gap is to include the 2 posts and the gate - so it is the gap you are trying to fill.

We recommend measuring your total gap top, middle and bottom and giving us the smallest
    measurement.

We then take into account the 2 posts, gaps for clearance and the gate size.

    Can I use existing posts?

Yes, you can use existing posts as long as they are in good condition. Please send an email
with a picture of the existing posts to info@tekplas.co.uk so we can double check.

Does the gate come with screws for fixing the posts?

No, the gate does not come with screws for fixing the posts as our products are fitted to so many different surface types.

What is included with the gate?

    2 x posts, 2 x caps and 2 x door stop’s

    1 x gate

Hinges (3 for singles and 6 for doubles) and 1 ring latch with screws for fixing

Can I hinge the gate from the left- or right-hand side?

Yes, you can. We do not drill any pilot holes for the hinges or latch so you can hinge the gate from the left- or right-hand side.

Can I fix the gate to open inwards or outwards?

Yes, you can. If fitting the gate to open inwards the hinges go on the back face of the gate, if fitting the gate to open outwards, the hinges go on the front face of the gate.
