  • Add-Ons: We offer Tekplas Side Panels to match your gate and complete the look of your space.

Post Options:

  • 2 x Plastic Posts: The most common option. Each post is fitted to the wall for secure installation.
  • 1 x Plastic Post, 1 x Aluminum Post: This option works when one post is attached to a wall, and the other needs to be freestanding. The plastic post is wall-mounted, and the aluminum post is cemented into the ground.
  • 2 x Aluminum Posts: Suitable when both posts are freestanding, with each post cemented into the ground for stability. Please note aluminium posts are not supplied with door stops.

Security Lock Options:

  1. High-Security Gate Lock: This lock features a key-operated barrel on one side and a slide lock button on the other side. The slide lock makes it easy to open the gate from the back garden while requiring a key from the front garden. It’s made from high-quality materials and comes with five keys and clear installation instructions.
  2. Coded Lock: Available in silver and black, the black version is made from marine-grade material. Both locks are weather-resistant and outdoor-compatible. The coded lock requires a code from the front side of the garden and features a twist handle for easy access from the back garden.

How to Measure

Measuring Your Gate Opening

To ensure an accurate fit, we need to know
the total gap, including the posts. Here’s how to measure:

Measure the Total Gap: Measure the distance from wall to wall, or from wall to fence. Be sure to measure at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening to account for any variations.

Provide the Smallest Measurement: After measuring, record the smallest measurement from top, middle, and bottom in the "Total Gap" box. This will ensure a precise fit for your gate.

Post Thickness and Clearance: Once we receive the smallest measurement, we will subtract the thickness of the posts and include the appropriate clearance for a proper fit.

If you're unsure about the measurements or
need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we’ll guide you through the process.

Existing Posts: If you plan to keep your existing posts, or one of them, let us know. Our standard gate package includes two posts, unless you specifically request otherwise.

Care Guide

Gate Care & Maintenance Guide: To keep your Tekplas gate looking fresh and working correctly, we recommend performing simple maintenance twice a year—once at the start of spring and again at the end of summer.

Step 1: General Cleaning

  • Hose down the gate to remove surface dirt and grit.
  • Wash thoroughly with hot soapy water and a soft sponge. This helps remove any build-up from winter weather or heavy rainfall.

Step 2: PVC Surface Treatment

  • Once dry, use a PVC solvent cleaner to restore the finish. We highly recommend Everbuild PVC Solvent Cleaner, which we've tested extensively for the best results.
  • Spray directly onto the gate and wipe with a clean cloth. This step helps maintain the gate’s appearance, especially for coloured gates, by protecting against fading from UV exposure.

Step 3: Optional UV Protection (for Gates in Full
Sun)

  • If your gate is exposed to strong sunlight all year round, apply a clear Danish Oil with a UV additive.
  • Only use clear Danish Oil designed for external use with UV protection.
  • Apply with a cloth to help prolong the vibrancy of your gate’s colour.

Note: While Tekplas gates are made from the highest-grade PVC with up-to-date UV stabilisers, all PVC materials can eventually after many many years show signs of fading with prolonged full sun exposure. These care steps help extend the life and appearance of your gate.

Step 4: Hardware Maintenance

  • Use a light machine oil on a cloth to wipe down all hardware including:
  • Hinges
  • Ring latches
  • Locks
  • Add a few drops directly to hinge joints to keep them operating smoothly and to protect against rust and wear.

Why Maintain Your PVC Gate?

Unlike timber, PVC won’t rot, absorb water, or dry out and split during the summer months. It also won’t need repainting like traditional wooden gates, saving you time and ongoing maintenance costs. With just a small amount of care, your Tekplas gate will continue to look great and function smoothly for many years to come.

FAQs

Are your gates fully assembled?

Our gates will come fully assembled. You will need a trusted gate fitter to install your gate for you along with your lock options.

How strong are your gates?

Our gates are just as strong as wooden gates, without the worry of rotting and material degrading.

Does the total gap include the posts?

Yes, it does.
The total gap is to include the 2 posts and the gate - so it is the gap you are trying to fill.

We recommend measuring your total gap top, middle and bottom and giving us the smallest
measurement.

We then take into account the 2 posts, gaps for clearance and the gate size.

Can I use existing posts?

Yes, you can use existing posts as long as they are in good condition. Please send an email
with a picture of the existing posts to info@tekplas.co.uk so we can double check.

Does the gate come with screws for fixing the posts?

No, the gate does not come with screws for fixing the posts as our products are fitted to so many different surface types.

What is included with the gate?

2 x posts, 2 x caps and 2 x door stop’s

1 x gate

Hinges (3 for singles and 6 for doubles) and 1 ring latch with screws for fixing

Can I hinge the gate from the left- or right-hand side?

Yes, you can. We do not drill any pilot holes for the hinges or latch so you can hinge the gate from the left- or right-hand side.

Can I fix the gate to open inwards or outwards?

Yes, you can. If fitting the gate to open inwards the hinges go on the back face of the gate, if fitting the gate to open outwards, the hinges go on the front face of the gate.
